Just when you thought that the Indian film censor board has gone from villain to hero by defending Akshay Kumar starrer Jolly LLB2, it fires a fresh salvo to keep its killer image intact!

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), in an unexpected move, has refused to clear a feature film-- Modi Ka Gaon (Modi's Village) based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's development agenda-- citing the ongoing assembly elections, said a news agency report.

The medium budget-film that was supposed to hit the screen on February 10 has been found objectionable on mainly three counts-- ongoing elections; casting of PM Modi's look-alike Vikas Mahante; and the existence of a side character called 'Pappu Bihari'- saying that the name should be deleted from the entire film.

The producer of the film Suresh Jha cried foul and alleged discrimination against the movie. "They (CBFC) have stipulated conditions which are so difficult to comply with that I might as well forget about releasing the film," he said to IANS.

The CBFC said: "Submit NOC from PMO regarding Prime Minister’s portrayal/references through a character in the film resembles and one from the Election Commission."
