His doctors from Mumbai's Saifee hospital who performed bariatric surgery believe that he would lose another 80 kg in the months to follow.

Madhya Pradesh cop Daulatram Jogawat, who was 'fat-shamed' by the columnist Shobhaa De on Twitter, has resumed job in a new avatar. 

Jogawat who weighed 180kg then, successfully underwent a braiatric surgery last month in Mumbai's Saifee hospital. He is reported to have lost approximately 15 kg in a month's time. 

"I am feeling very fit and following the instructions for diet and an hour long walk, as given by the doctors. Even my overall health has improved as I’ve started losing weight," Jogawatwas quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times.
 
Doctors said uncontrolled diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, lymphedema and other ailments that Jogawat is suffering from might go away in the next few months, the report added.
 
Shobhaa De had posted a picture of the policeman with the caption, 'Heavy police bandobast in Mumbai today!' The pun didn't go well with the Twitteratis slammed the columnist for being insensitive.

People pointed out that not only was the picture old and the caption copied, but also that a pun like this makes up for body shaming. 

Soon after the MP cop became an internet sensation, Dr Muffazal Lakhdawala, bariatric surgeon from Saifee Hospital, and his team evaluated Jogawat’s condition and decided to go ahead with the surgery.

The Mumbai Police had later clarified that Jogawat was never a part of their team and that he policeman posted in Madhya Pradesh's Neemuch town.
