The Green Party in Germany has batted for claiming cost for sex with prostitutes as medical expense. Green Party spokeswoman and MP, Elisabeth Scharfenberg, has said this in an article published on Sunday in the German newspaper, ‘Welt am Sonntag.’

The idea is for the disabled or the people with severe health issues to be able to claim the expenses for sexual services as a medical expense.  The Green Party wants the local authorities to cover the cost of sex for the disabled in the country.

Prostitution is legal in Germany since 2002. In the Netherlands it is already possible to claim the cost of sexual services as a medical expense.

"I can imagine a [public] financing of sexual assistance," Scharfenberg said in the article.

Quoting local newspapers, BBC said that increasing numbers of sex workers offered services in care homes in Germany, adding, a sexual adviser for nursing homes told a German paper that prostitutes were a "blessing" for some patients. According to the Green Party, in order to claim the expense, the patients would have to prove a medical need and show that they could not pay to visit sex workers otherwise.

According to reports, the services’ vary from "affectionate touching" to sexual intercourse.
