Amid raging spar between the ruling BJP and Congress over the delay, reports on Wednesday said that the Parliament's winter session is likely to covene from December 15 to January 5, 2018.

PM Modi's home state Gujarat where voting will be happen in two phases on December 9 and 14, would declare the results on December 18. Himachal Pradesh too goes to poll just before the session.

Sonia Gandhi , in a stinging attack, had said that the NDA-govt is sabotaging the Winter session on"flimsy grounds", to which Union Minister Arun Jaitley sharply responded by saying the grand old party had done so too in the past.

The opposition had earlier alleged that the government was delaying the session on purpose to avoid a debate on "scams", including the Rafale deal, during the Gujarat polls.

The BJP, however, rejected the Congress's tirade as a "chorus of baseless allegations" and insisted that previous governments, including the UPA, had also scheduled sessions after state polls as politicians are busy in campaign.

More Details Awaited.
