How does it feel after such a big win?
To tell you the truth, I feel scared. I am grateful to the people of Delhi from the bottom of my heart for such a historic win.
What will your priority be?
To rid Delhi of corruption. Fulfil my promises on electricity and water.
Why do you think people voted for you?
People want their Delhi to be theirs. The politics in Delhi should be on issues related to Delhi. People understood this and it touched their hearts.
Of course, it can be brought back. India won’t be the first country to do so. The US has done it before. You need to have honest intention for this, which people don’t.
It is also being said that these bank accounts are not illegal.
All this is to throw one off track. If investigated properly, the truth will come out. If you close in on the bank officials, why won’t we get to know the truth?
You have made so many promises, how will you fulfil them, where will the money come from?
No government ever has a paucity of funds. We had shown this in our 49-day rule. We know how one can run a government and which issues to tackle first.
Did the BJP’s personal attack against you help you?
Yes, definitely. The way they attacked us, the common man in Delhi felt it wasn’t right. This negative campaign helped us. They dragged my children, my gotra. I am an ordinary man and I don’t believe in levelling personal charges against anyone. People have voted for us on issues, to bring come about a big and we will focus on fulfilling that.
