  • Imola GP Qualfying: Max Verstappen Equals Ayrton Senna; Clinches Record 8th Straight Pole - In Pics

    Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen once again showed his class clinching the pole position for Sunday's Imola Grand Prix. After a slow start, Verstappen eventually stormed past McLaren pair of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, who came second and third, to take the pole. By this pole, Verstappen equalled Ayrton Senna’s tally of eight consecutive poles set across the 1988 and 1989 campaigns. Incidentally, he achieved this feat on the 30th anniversary weekend of the Brazilian’s passing in an accident at Imola.

  • Boxing: Oleksandr Usyk Beats Tyson Fury To Be Crowned Undisputed Champion - In Pics

    Oleksandr Usyk’s heart and skill are enormous, and he overcame a major size disadvantage against Tyson Fury to become the world’s first undisputed heavyweight boxing champion in 24 years. Usyk defeated Fury by split decision on Sunday, knocking down his hulking opponent in the ninth round and eventually earning a narrow win on two scorecards. The 37-year-old Ukrainian is the first heavyweight to hold every major title belt since Lennox Lewis. Usyk (22-0) added Fury’s WBC title to his own WBA, IBF and WBO belts with a spectacular late-round rally in a back-and-forth matchup between two previously unbeaten champions from a strong era of heavyweight boxing. Two judges favored Usyk, 115-112 and 114-113, while the third gave it to Fury, 114-113. Usyk is the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis held the honor for five months in 1999 and 2000. He is also now the lineal heavyweight champion by beating Fury, who beat Wladimir Klitschko to earn that distinction in 2015.

  • IPL 2024: RCB Beat CSK By 27 Runs In Bengaluru, Qualify For Playoffs - In Pics

    Royal Challengers Bangalore have secured a spot in the playoffs after defeating Chennai Super Kings by 27 runs at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday. Batting first, RCB set a target of 219 runs for CSK, with captain Faf du Plessis contributing a half-century. CSK needed only 201 runs to secure a playoff berth. Glenn Maxwell dismissed CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad on the first delivery of the innings, putting pressure on the opposition. Rachin Ravindra (61 off 37 balls) and Ajinkya Rahane added 66 runs for the third wicket. Despite losing wickets, CSK relied on MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja to finish the game. However, Dayal's last over changed the game, allowing RCB to qualify for the playoffs.
