For most travellers, Kolad is synonymous with white-water rafting and is the adventure capital of Maharashtra. The mention of its name evokes the roar of the Kundalika River and the thrill of navigating rapids through the Sahyadri hills. It is the only place in the state where rafting is possible year-round, thanks to the controlled release of water from the nearby Bhira Dam.
