A violent clash broke out between two groups in Dhanbad's Katra's police station area on July 1, resulting in the arrest of 34 individuals. The confrontation was sparked by the theft of an e-rickshaw charger, leading to stone-pelting and gunfire.

The incident sheds light on the increasing issue of e-rickshaw thefts in Jharkhand, which have left drivers in financial distress. The stolen e-rickshaw chargers significantly impact the livelihoods of these drivers who have invested their life savings in purchasing their vehicles.

In response to the incident, authorities have imposed Section 144, which prohibits the gathering of more than four people, in the Katras area to maintain law and order.
