Gujarat: Man Poses As ISRO Scientist Who Designed Chandrayaan-3, Arrested By Surat Crime Branch

The accused, identified as Mitul Trivedi, who is a tuition teacher to students from 12th standard and onwards, allegedly forged documents and a letter to further support his claim and used it to get more students registered.

In an untoward incident, the Surat Crime Branch on Wednesday apprehended a man, identified as Mitul Trivedi, who posed as a ISRO scientist and gave media interviews claiming that he designed Chandrayaan 3's Vikram lander.

The accused, who is a tuition teacher to students from 12th standard and onwards, allegedly forged documents and a letter to further support his claim and used it to get more students registered.

In his defence, Trivedi later confessed that he created a fake appointment letter of ISRO dated February 26, 2022 in which he claimed to be the assistant chairman of ISRO's Ancient Science Application Department. Moreover, he has also forged another letter in which he claimed to be a “space research member” for ISRO's upcoming project called “mercury force in space”.

According to Surat Additional Commissioner of Police, Sharad Singhal, an application was submitted to the Commissioner of Police requesting an investigation into the matter.
