Actor Tanishaa Mukerji, daughter of veteran Bollywood star Tanuja and sister of Kajol, kicked off her acting career in 2003 with the film ‘Sssshhh…’. The film failed to perform well, both critically and commercially. Subsequently, Tanishaa following films too failed to let her career soar. At this point, her brother-in-law and Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn tried to help her, and even got her a secretary.
In a recent interview, Tanishaa revealed how Ajay tried to help her after she was out of work for about 2-3 years. The former actress told Siddharth Kanan, “Ajay came in later. He realised, ‘Ye kya ho raha hai (what is happening with her career)’ and then he was like, ‘Wait a minute baby, let me come in.’ He came after my launch and after I was out of work for about 2-3 years. It all went downhill. Then Ajay got me a secretary. At that time, there were secretaries. KS Sanjay was fixed as my secretary by Ajay.”

Tanishaa further called Ajay a “lovely” human being and mentioned that he “really takes care of the family”.
Meanwhile, Tanishaa has been lately gaining popularity for her dancing skills with her performances on dance reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa’. During the show, she revealed how she had got enough film offers during the initial days of her career, but she did not take it up and couldn't take them up as she didn’t connect with them.
“They were quick films. Back then, the story of the films didn’t have substance and depth. It was an odd time in the industry when I came in. I wish I had done more films. It’s not like I didn’t get the offers but I didn’t connect with the subjects. I didn’t identify with the characters and I felt I wasn’t a real actor then,” revealed Tanishaa.

Tanishaa starred in a few films, including ‘Neal ‘n’ Nikki’ (2005), ‘Sarkar’ (2005), ‘Tango Charlie’ (2005), and ‘One Two Three’ (2008).
