The film, which is a biopic on the life of Sam Maneckshaw, has been getting great response from the audience and critics alike. However, at the box-office the film’s collection hasn’t been too overwhelming as the film has been totally mauled over by Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor starrer ‘Animal’. While ‘Sam Bahadur’ is still running in theatres, there are reports of Meghna Gulzar already finalising her next project, and it stars none other than Sidharth Malhotra.

Sidharth Malhotra and Meghna Gulzar have been talking for quite a few years about coming together for a project. However, nothing was finalising till now. It’s being reported now that there is one script that both have liked and have decided to lock in as their next project. As per reports, the film is going to be based on a horrifying real-life story. Meghna is known to make stories based on real-life people or situations. Her mastery of the genre can be seen in films like ‘Sam Bahadur’, ‘Chhapaak’, ‘Talvar’, ‘Raazi’ and many others.

As per the report on India Today, a source close to the development said, “Sid and Meghna Gulzar have been discussing a probable collaboration for a while now and they have finally zeroed in on a subject whose narrative will take the nation by shock. It’s set against the backdrop of a horrifying true story and the idea is to portray it with utmost sensitivity for the big screen. The film will go on floors by Mid-2024.” It seems that Meghna Gulzar is now giving the final touches to the script and polishing the rough edges of the screenplay.
It is being reported that Meghna has done all the research on the subject and has been sitting on this topic for the past few years. She got her hands on the source material a few years ago and the subject got her deeply moved. The two talked over the story and Sidharth resonated with the emotions on the script.
