Rajinikanth's 'Thalaivar 170' Is Titled 'Vettaiyan', Makers Unveil Teaser Of TJ Gnanavel's Directorial

Rajinikanth 'Thalaivar 170' has finally got a title. 'Vettaiyan' is the title of his new film. On the occasion of the megastar's birthday, the makers unveiled the title poster and the teaser.

On Rajinikanth's birthday, his highly anticipated movie 'Thalaivar 170' gets a title. It has been titled as 'Vettaiyan'. On the occasion of his 73rd birthday, the makers announced its title with a teaser video. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan. It marks Rajinikanth and Mr Bachchan's collaboration after three decades. The movie also Rana Daggubati, Fahad Faasil, Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, and Dushara Vijayan among others. 

Lyca Productions shared the title teaser video of 'Vettaiyan' on social media handles. The short video opens with a shot of Rajinikanth reading a book with a photo of Subhas Chandra Bose. In another scene, he is seen with a lathi, which lets as assume that he is playing a teacher or a professor and then in another scene, he is seen with a gun.

In 'Vettaiyan', Rajinikanth is reportedly playing the character of a retired Muslim police officer reopening a case to seek justice. It has been shot in different locations, including Thiruvananthapuram, Tirunelveli, and Mumbai. It will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Apart from this, the 'Jailer' actor has yet another film lined up which is tentatively titled, 'Thalaivar 171'. It will be directed by 'Viram' and 'Master' fam director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film marks Rajinikanth and Lokesh's first project together.

Reportedly, it is said to be a standalone project of Lokesh. As per reports, Raghava Lawrence is playing the antagonist. The film is produced by Sun Pictures.
