Mike Nussbaum who was seen in movies like ‘Field Of Dreams’ and ‘Men In Black’ has died at the age of 99. The actor died just days before he would have celebrated his 100th birthday on December 29.

According to reports, Mike Nussbaum breathed his last on Saturday. He passed away in his home in Chicago, United States. His family will carry out a funeral service while a public memorial in his memory will be held next year. Speaking to The Associated Press, his daughter Karen Nussbaum said, “He was a good father and a good man who raised us to care about other people and respect other people and care about justice.”

As the news of his death hit social media, fans of the actor swarmed to the internet to talk about his illustrious career and the legacy he has left behind.

Mike Nussbaum has been recognized by the Actor's Equity Association union for being the oldest professional actor in the United States. Speaking to WBEZ Chicago in 2019 about his longstanding career, the late actor said, “I am gifted and lucky to still be able to do the thing that is the most fun for me in life," further adding, "As long as I can do it, I will.”

The actor started his career in theatre in the 1950s. In the 1960s, he met David Mamet and starred in many of his plays that were enacted on Broadway and in Chicago. His noted films include ‘House Of Game’, ‘Fatal Attraction’, and ‘Things Change’ to name a few. He has appeared in television commercials and has also tried his hands at filmmaking.
