Just before Janhvi Kapoor was to make her debut in Bollywood with ‘Dhadak’, her mother and legendary actress Sridevi passed away in 2018, leaving a huge void for her family and her friends. Now her younger daughter Khushi Kapoor is all set to venture into the films with her first film ‘The Archies’.

At the film premiere on Tuesday night in Mumbai, Khushi left everyone surprised when she re- wore her Sridevi's iconic Kaufman Franco dress. Khushi looked stunning in her mother's old shimmery strapless gown, which she paired with a diamond necklace and earrings. The accessories too belonged to Sridevi. Khushi finished off her look with a neat hair bun. For those caught unaware, the same dress was worn by Sridevi at the IIFA Awards 2013. As for the jewellery, Sridevi wore it during the 2011 IIFA Awards.

A social media page Diet Sabya shared pictures of Khushi and Sridevi in the same dress for comparison, and captioned it as, “A tribute to the iconic Sri. For her first movie premier, Khushi Kapoor wears a Kaufman Franco gown from 2013 worn by Sri Devi at the IIFA awards.”

Reacting to the post, a social media user commented, “And with due respect to the legend, it looks like Khushi wore and styled it better.” "I can only imagine the void they are feeling. It probably made her feel the presence of her mum for a very important day," wrote another. A third one praised Khushi and wrote, “She looks amazeballs! The cut, the fit, the colour, she’s the fashionista! One of her best looks & a sweet nod to her iconic and legendary Amma.”
