Is 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' Sequel On The Cards? Zoya Akhtar Confirms ‘Everybody Is Interested’

The 2011 film starred Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol in lead roles, and emerged to be a super hit.

Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol's film 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', which released in 2011, emerged to be a mega-hit. It would not be wrong to say that the film stays relevant even after 12 years of its release. 

Despite so many years of its release, the film's cast and director Zoya Akhtar has often been questioned if there will be a 'ZNMD 2'. Now ahead of 'The Archies' release, Zoya was asked if there would be a sequel to 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'. And here’s what she told ANI, "Yes, this comes up all the time, and everybody is interested."

She further mentioned how everyone is interested in the film's sequel, including the producers to actors, everyone is interested in the film's sequel. "That movie meant a lot to us. So, if we find that soul for part two, we will make it. We don't want to do it just for money. When the audience comes to watch the second part, they will have a certain expectation, and we must give it to them; otherwise, they won't be happy," Zoya said.

Not to miss, recently, a post by Farhan Akhtar made fans wonder whether 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2' is finally on the cards. On October 17, Farhan posted a photo which reminded fans of his character, Imran, from the film. He captioned it as, "The Imraan look comes full circle. What say @zoieakhtar? Should the Bwoys head on another road trip (sic)."

Taking to the comment section, Abhay Deol wrote, "I’ve had my #bagwati packed since 2012, what’s keeping you guys? (sic)." Hrithik Roshan too commented, "Lesssss goooooo!!!! (sic)", and Zoya Akhtar said, "My Bagwati is packed (sic)."

Well, we certainly cannot wait for an official announcement about the film!

As for ‘The Archies’, the film is directed by Zoya, and stars Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Aditi Saigal and Yuvraj Menda. The screenplay is by Reema Kagti. The heartfelt coming-of-age tale set in the idyllic backdrop of the 1960s, ‘The Archies’ draws viewers into the lives of a beloved group of teenagers. The film is a collaborative effort between Netflix India, Tiger Baby, Archie Comics, and Graphic India.
