Television honcho Ekta Kapoor has become the latest name from the TV fraternity to express her dissent against actor Radhika Madan, whose recent comments on the television industry were considered to be disrespectful.

In an interview, Radhika opened up on the long hours and lack of creativity that permeates the TV industry. However, soon after, actor Sayantani Ghosh, who appeared in the fourth season of Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Naagin’, lashed out at her during an interview with Siddharth Kannan.

Adding how she is ‘disappointed’ by what Radhika had said, Sayantani mentioned, “Let me tell you, TV feeds hundreds and hundreds of women, and gives them employment, and the biggest of movie stars also choose TV to come and promote their films. So I didn’t like that approach,” she said. Now Ekta has joined her and mentioned that it is ‘sad and shameful’ that actors have no respect for their roots.

Sayantani had also applauded fellow ‘Naagin’ actor Mouni Roy, who according to her, never forgets where she came from. Several TV actors such as Anita Hassanandani, Karanvir Bohra, Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya had supported Sayantani.

For those caught unaware, Radhika had said in the interview that whenever she would ask for a script, she was told, “Aap set pe chalo, script garma garam aa rahi hai,” adding that directors would be replaced at the last moment depending on whoever was available.
