Qatar’s Mutaz Essa Barshim won his third consecutive World Athletics Championships gold medal in the men’s high jump on Monday. Barshim, who had won gold in 2017 (London) and 2019 (Doha) cleared 2.37m to top the podium. South Korea’s Sanghyeok Woo (2.35m) finished second and Ukraine’s Andriy Protsenko (2.33m) bagged bronze. Meanwhile, in women’s 1500m final, Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon won gold clocking 3.52:96s. Ethiopian Gudaf Tsegay (3:54.52s) came second while Great Britain’s Laura Muir was third with 3:55.28s.
