The Canadian has started really well in the match, not letting the ocassion get to him. He is holding against de Minaur's long serves, and after a fiery start, leads 2-1 in the opening set.

A couple of 40:love sets has seen the match see-saw between the two players, but Auge-Aliassime holds on to his slender advantage. A really strong performance early on from both players at Flushing Meadows.

Never count Alex de Minaur out. A brilliant ace from the Australian gives him charge, and he siezes it with some terrific strokeplay. All his experience comes into play, and he takes the lead for the first time tonight. However, expect a long and tight match, folks.

Felix is not letting the pressure overcome him, and two aces in the game helps the Canadian seal it, putting himself in touching distance of de Minaur once again. As I said earlier, expect a long and tight contest.

It's hard to say who is the better player on the court at the moment. The games have become much tighter, and despite de Minaur's quality earning him some incredible rallies, it is the Canadian who leads 2-1 at the moment in the second set.

How close can this contest get, really?! Both players are missing chances they would have capitalised on normally - is the pressure getting to them? Anyway, all the unforced errors aside, it's Auger-Aliassime who maintains his lead in the second set, hoping for a comeback.

It has been two-and-a-half hours aleready, and the tempo has understandibly dropped from both players. However, de Minaur's excellent pickups has given the Australian the advantage in the crunch moments, and he leads 2-1 in the third set as a result.

Take a bow, Felix Auger-Aliassime. A couple of unforced errors put the Canadian 3-2 ahead, and in the next game, it was a battle of nerves that de Minaur could not overcome against his opponent. Despite trailing 15:40 at one point, Auger-Aliassime fought back valiantly and, aided by an error from de Minaur, now has a two-game lead in the third set.

De Minaur is putting pressure on Auger-Aliassime after the Canadian sealed a 40:love win in the eighth game. It was tight in the next game, 30:30 at one point, but the Australian used his shot-playing skill to close the game well.

De Minaur completely fails to turn up in the deciding game, with errors creeping up into his play that Auger-Aliassime took full advantage of without breaking much sweat. As a result, he takes the third set, and has a 2-1 advantage going into the fourth one.

With the match increasingly looking lost, de Minaur is giving it his all. However, the quality of tennis on display has dropped significantly, and it's more about which player will make the minimal number of errors. At the moment, the Australian is leading 2-1.

Is a comeback on the cards?! Two dominant wins in the last two games, the last one being 40:love, has put the fourt set 4-1 in favour of de Minaur. Felix will be feeling the pressure even more now, so near the finishing line.
