After losing the first set by 6-3, Svitolina makes a strong comeback in the second one and is leading by 5-2. The World No. 8 need to win this set to stay in the game.
Svitolina 5-2 Kostyuk
Svitolina managed to save two game points during a lengthy deuce exchange and gets a set point after Kostyuk plays a long shot. After wasting this opportunity with a backhand return into the net, Svitolina managed to make a comeback to earn a second set point. Kostyuk then faltered and smashed a forehand into the net and Svitolina wins the set, taking the match to the deciding set.
Svitolina 6-2 Kostyuk
Marta Kostyuk beats her Ukrainian counterpart in the third set to seal a place in her maiden Grand Slam semi-final. This is the 15th seed 17th consecutive win on the clay court and with it she ended Svitolina's 10-match winning streak. The 23-year-old sealed the win in style, firing an ace while serving out the match to love and wrapping up the contest in one hour and 49 minutes.
