'My Heart Beats Only For F-1'

'Nothing is better than Formula One, It's the pinnacle of world motorsport and it's such an honour for me to represent India in this sport. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.' Updates

After coming up with his "best" performance of the season in the Hungarian Grand Prix, Narain Karthikeyan has declared that his heart beats only for Formula One and that he cannot imagine being anywhere else.

Karthikeyan was obviously referring to recent statements made by A-1 promoters hinting that he might race for the new series duringthe off-season.

"Nothing is better than Formula One, It's the pinnacle of world motorsport and it's such an honour for me to represent India in this sport. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else," he said.

"My heart is definitely here in this sport and I do not imagine racing anywhere else." The Jordan driver, the only Indian in F-1, finished yesterday's Grand Prix inthe 12th position just behind championship leader Fernando Alonso and promptly termed it as his best performance of the entire season.

Starting the grid on the 18th position, Narain jumped to the 13th position soon despite all the debris lying on the track after Christian Klien's accident and David Coulthard's retirement.

"This race was definitely my best of the season," said Narain while admitting that"It was certainly my toughest race.

"In Malaysia at least, you can rest on the long straights but here it's just one corner after another in the intense heat. But I had so much fun."
