Lebanese sensation Ramadan “The Scorpion” Ondash is eager to make the biggest statement of his young career this Friday, June 27.
Live in Asia primetime, the 18-year-old striker will meet red-hot Thai knockout artist Chartpayak Saksatoon in a strawweight Muy Thai bout at ONE Friday Fights 114 inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
A victory would not only keep Ondash’s perfect ONE record intact, but it could also secure him a coveted six-figure contract and a spot on the organization’s global roster.
For the highly touted Tiger Muay Thai representative, this fight represents the culmination of a journey that began with big dreams and unwavering determination.
He recently spoke to onefc.com about the massive opportunity.
“It has been a beautiful experience, fighting in the biggest martial arts organization in the world. And now, I am preparing for my fourth fight in ONE and looking forward to getting that contract. The contract is my main objective.”
Ondash has already proven himself against quality opposition.
His three victories at ONE Friday Fights have showcased a versatile skill set and an aggressive style that has quickly made him a fan favorite – but he must now overcome his toughest test yet.
After all, Chartpayak will enter the showdown with a perfect 7-0 record in ONE. The Thai destroyer has torn through the competition so far, although “The Scorpion” believes he has the tools needed to solve the puzzle:
“My opponent, Chartpayak, owns seven wins out of seven, and five wins via knockout. So, his results have been impressive. He faced good fighters who haven’t been able to stand tall against him.
“He has very good punches and kicks. He is strong and well-known in Thailand. But, he is yet to face Ramadan Ondash. This Friday, you will see what I mean.”
Despite his age, Ondash has already displayed maturity and fight IQ beyond his years. His crowd-pleasing style has resulted in one knockout and two thrilling decision victories.
He is now determined to add another highlight-reel finish to his growing collection while securing the US$100,000 contract that would change his life forever.
Another knockout at ONE Friday Fights 114 would be ideal, but the young phenom made it clear that he won’t force the action unnecessarily:
“I hope it finishes via KO. But I am not searching for the knockout. I want to give a good performance for the crowd and show who Ramadan Ondash is and my fighting style.”
The significance of this Friday’s battle cannot be overstated for Ramadan Ondash.
While many fighters his age are still learning the fundamentals or gradually climbing their way up to the elite, “The Scorpion” is already competing at the highest level of martial arts with genuine World Title aspirations.
Should he emerge victorious against Chartpayak Saksatoon, the doors would open for bigger and more lucrative matchup. But first, he must get past a dangerous opponent who has made a habit of stopping fights early.
For his part, Ondash already owns the confidence of a fighter who believes his time is now:
“I don’t have any names, but I am open to facing anyone that the matchmakers want me to face. Let them decide on my next opponent, and I will be ready.”
While the contract is his primary focus right now, the talented teenager ultimately wants even more.
In fact, he’s already setting his sights on 26 pounds of ONE Championship gold and the recognition that comes with being the best in the world:
“My ambition is to first get the contract. Then, my dream is to wear a ONE World Title around my waist.”
