Nontachai To Face Abdulla Dayakaev In Featherweight Muay Thai Bout At ONE Fight Night 33

These fast-rising strikers will throw down on July 11 in U.S. primetime.

ONE Championship

Two of Muay Thai’s most entertaining strikers will throw down in an explosive featherweight tilt at ONE Fight Night 33 on Prime Video.

On July 11 in U.S. primetime, Thai sensation Nontachai Jitmuangnon will put his undefeated ONE record on the line against surging Russian knockout artist Abdulla “Smash Boy” Dayakaev at the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Both fighters are dangerous contenders on the rise, so this fight is an opportunity for one of them to assert himself as the real deal and score a top-five ranked opponent next.

A longtime training partner to former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon, Nontachai earned his spot in the world’s largest martial arts organization by winning four straight bouts in the second season of the Road to ONE: Thailand tournament.

He hasn’t wasted any time meeting the lofty expectations surrounding him.

The 26-year-old employed his aggressive yet technically refined striking game to score a thrilling decision win over Alessio Malatesta in his promotional debut last summer and has since rattled off two more impressive victories, including a highlight-reel finish of Russian veteran Dmitrii Kovtun.

Nontachai now hopes to keep his meteoric rise going, but he’ll face a supremely difficult test in Dayakaev.

Still just 23 years old, “Smash Boy” already boasts seven victories in ONE across eight appearances. Notably, five of those wins came via stoppage, establishing him as one of Muay Thai’s most devastating knockout artists.

Dayakaev earned his main roster contract with a first-round knockout at ONE Friday Fights 96 in February and then proved he belongs among the best when he stopped former longtime top-five bantamweight Muay Thai contender Saemapetch Fairtex at ONE Fight Night 31 in May.

The Russian will now move up in weight for his first featherweight matchup in ONE and aim to announce himself as a bona fide World Title threat in the division.

Stylistically, fans should buckle up for a barnburner. While Dayakaev has already proven to be a terrifying puncher, Nontachai brings a gritty, high-octane approach to striking that makes every contest a frantic firefight.
