  • Thai star Panpayak is looking to end Dagestani KO artist Asadula Imangazaliev's unbeaten run in ONE Friday Fights

  • ONE Friday Fights 122 will be broadcast live in 190+ countries, and will also be available on the ONE YouTube channel

“The Angel Warrior” Panpayak Jitmuangnon never backs down from a challenge, and he’s fired up to tackle another tricky test in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 122 on August 29.

The former Lumpinee Stadium and Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai World Champion shares the stage with undefeated Russian dynamo Asadula Imangazaliev in a flyweight Muay Thai clash live in Asia primetime inside Bangkok, Thailand’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium.

For the 250-win veteran, this represents more than just another fight – it’s a chance to prove he still belongs among the elite against a knockout artist hunting for his most significant scalp yet.

Panpayak said:

“When ONE offered me this fight against Asadula, I immediately accepted the fight. I’ve never been a picky person. I’m ready to fight anyone ONE Championship puts in front of me.

“For this fight, I think the promotion is putting me to test him, to see if he’s good enough to earn a ONE contract. I have to admit, it’s a very challenging fight because I’ve never faced an opponent this big with such long reach weapons before.”

Imangazaliev brings a terrifying 9-0 record into this headline attraction, with four of his five victories on ONE Friday Fights ending inside the distance.

The Dagestani’s average fight time of just over 3 minutes tells the story of a fighter who quickly dispatches his opponents.

But “The Angel Warrior” has spent years studying opponents and adapting his approach accordingly, and the 29-year-old sees weaknesses he can exploit if he sticks to his game plan:

“Asadula is an aggressive fighter with a variety of weapons. But I think his weakness is that he hasn’t been hit by a heavy weapon yet, so his durability might not be great.

“I’m curious to see if he’ll get discouraged when he takes my shots, because I’ve buffed a lot of power to my weapons. I intend to hit him with everything I’ve got to make him back off.”

Panpayak Ready To Showcase His Best Version

Beyond the technical challenges of facing Asadula Imangazaliev, Panpayak Jitmuangnon is motivated by his desire to deliver a career-defining performance when he steps inside “the Mecca of Muay Thai” on August 29.

The Jitmuangnon Gym representative admits he hasn’t been satisfied with his recent showings, despite winning two of his last three, including a highlight-reel finish of Majid Seydali at ONE Friday Fights 100 this past March.

The seven-time Muay Thai World Champion added:

“I’m not completely satisfied with my performance in the last three fights. But I’m confident I’ll do much better in this one. Ever since my injury healed, I’ve been training consistently, and I feel like my body is in the best shape.

“From my fight with Egor [Bikrev], I learned a lot about defense. I want to make sure the same thing doesn’t happen again. I wasn’t hitting hard enough, but when you’re facing a fast Russian fighter like him, you have to hit hard to scare them off.”

With his body fully healed and his tactical approach refined, Panpayak is ready to remind everyone why he once ruled Thailand’s most prestigious stadiums.

Standing across from an undefeated knockout artist, chasing a US$100,000 contract and a spot on the main roster, the 29-year-old who has never been known to take the easy road throughout his career is motivated for what’s to come.

He shared:

“In this fight, I’ll use my skill and experience to find my rhythm. I’m confident I’ll perform much better than in my last three fights. Ever since I recovered from my injury, I’ve been training nonstop, and I feel like I’m in the best shape of my life.

“If I can get through this fight, my confidence will be back to maximum, and I think I’ll be able to perform well consistently after that.”
