5 Reasons To Watch ONE Fight Night 34

Here are the biggest reasons why you can't miss our next U.S. primetime event on Friday!

ONE Championship

The world’s largest martial arts organization returns with another stacked card this Friday, August 1 in U.S. primetime.

ONE Fight Night 34: Eersel vs. Jarvis on Prime Video features nine Muay Thai and MMA contests, which promise to deliver entertainment and excitement live from the fabled Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Before the action gets underway, we dive into five reasons why fans should tune in to ONE Fight Night 34 as the world’s greatest martial artists take the ring.

#1 A Massive World Title Showdown

In the main event, ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Champion Regian “The Immortal” Eersel puts his prized possession on the line against British bruiser George “G-Unit” Jarvis.

The Surinamese-Dutch warrior returns for his 14th assignment on the global stage in search of another statement victory that will prove why he’s one of the most elite operators in the striking realm today.

Eersel has emerged victorious in 13 fights under the ONE spotlight, most recently overcoming French rival Alexis “Barboza” Nicolas via majority decision in their rubber match at ONE Fight Night 30 this past April.

Though he was victorious, “The Immortal” lost his ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Title in the lead-up to their trilogy after missing weight.

The 32-year-old’s fire to achieve redemption should see him dish out another striking clinic, but he can expect to be pushed to the limit against a challenger who is determined to knock him off his throne.

Jarvis earned his spot on the main roster and a six-figure deal off three back-to-back triumphs on ONE Friday Fights, including a sensational third-round knockout of Rungrawee “Legatron” Sitsongpeenong last November.

Then, in his American primetime debut earlier this year, the Lumpini Crawley athlete punched his ticket to a World Title shot with another fine showing against Mouhcine “The Assassin” Chafi.

Now, Jarvis seeks to ace the toughest test of his career and capture the lightweight Muay Thai throne when all is said and done on August 1.

#2 Tonon Vs. Gasanov’s High-Stakes Featherweight MMA Sequel

Before the evening’s main event dawns in the Thai capital, fans will be in for a nail-biting rematch between two ground game experts as #3-ranked featherweight MMA contender Shamil “The Cobra” Gasanov runs it back with BJJ World Champion Garry “The Lion Killer” Tonon.

Gasanov has sought revenge against the BJJ black belt since their first encounter at ONE Fight Night 12 in July 2023.

That evening, the Peresvet Fight Team and Tiger Muay Thai athlete suffered the first loss of his professional career after tapping out to a kneebar in the second round.

The Dagestani grappling specialist did not let that loss get to his head, though.

He worked his way back up the rankings with four wins in succession, capped by a dominant unanimous decision over former two-division ONE MMA World Champion Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen at ONE 171: Qatar in February.

While “The Cobra’s” venomous acumen on the canvas has proven to be the backbone to his success, he knows another grappling chess match awaits him at ONE Fight Night 34.

Meanwhile, Tonon returns to the ring looking to resume his winning ways after some time off.

“The Lion Killer” is out to make it 2-0 against Gasanov and re-enter the World Title conversation with another highlight-reel performance.

However, should Gasanov draw even in their series, the Russian athlete could position himself as the next man in line to challenge ONE Featherweight MMA World Champion Tang Kai.

#3 The Return Of Supergirl

Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak is fired up to resume her quest for greatness on the biggest stage of martial arts against Bulgarian standout Teodora Kirilova. The two figure in a highly anticipated atomweight Muay Thai contest.

After more than 20 months away due to battles outside her career, even forcing her to consider retirement, the Thai martial artist dons the four-ounce gloves once again to embark on a new chapter.

The 21-year-old was last seen in action in a shocking first-round knockout defeat at the hands of Spanish star Cristina Morales at ONE Fight Night 16 in November 2023.

Before that setback, “Supergirl” entertained fans with her electric Muay Thai style to overcome Lara Fernandez, Ekaterina “Barbie” Vandaryeva, and Milagros Lopez.

She even gave former three-sport World Champion Stamp Fairtex a run for her money during their closely contested strawweight kickboxing war in January 2023.

Equipped with new motivation, “Supergirl” is ready to leave a lasting impression and reintroduce herself to the global fanbase against Kirilova at ONE Fight Night 34.

#4 A Pair Of Intriguing Heavyweight MMA Duels

Also on the card, the next contender to the ONE Heavyweight MMA World Title could emerge as Ben “Vanilla Thunder” Tynan locks horns with Kirill Grishenko and “Mighty Warrior” Kang Ji Won throws down with Ryugo Takeuchi.

The undefeated Tynan squares off against the former World Title challenger just before the headlining bouts at ONE Fight Night 34.

The Canadian’s wrestling prowess should match up well against Grishenko’s punishing Greco-Roman wrestling, an area that is likely where this high-octane affair will be closely contested.

Kang and Takeuchi, meanwhile, collide in a showdown that has all the ingredients of a quick and explosive finish inside the distance.

The two behemoths sport a 100 percent finishing rate and have plenty of heavy weapons to test each other’s granite chin.

A triumph for either man could push them one step closer to challenging ONE Heavyweight MMA World Champion “Reug Reug” Oumar Kane, who is set to defend his gold in a rematch against ONE Light Heavyweight and Middleweight MMA World Champion Anatoly “Sladkiy” Malykhin at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri in Tokyo, Japan, later this year.

#5 Suakim Aims To Make It Five In A Row In American Primetime Debut

Thai slugger Suakim Sor Jor Tongprajin is set to make his American primetime debut after an impressive run at ONE Friday Fights, where he scored four straight victories to bag a coveted US$100,000 contract.

The 153-win veteran has showcased his elite Muay Thai skills against some of the best the promotion has to offer. More impressively, he’s put four of his five opponents to sleep in the ONE ring.

After a defeat in his promotional debut, the Sor Jor Tongprajin representative recorded a thrilling first-round finish of Saman Ashouri

Although another heartbreaking setback followed shortly, the 29-year-old has wrapped up each of his assignments with his hand raised since, including his destructive elbow finish of Komawut FA Group this past March that landed him a spot on the main roster.

Suakim rarely misses when he has the chance to connect with his fight-ending knockout power, and that could be the case once more when he goes up against a hardy Turkish foe in Zafer Sayik.
