Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida Vs. ‘Reug Reug’ Oumar Kane Booked For ONE Fight Night 13

The BJJ legend explains why this clash has all the makings of being an unforgettable MMA classic on August 4.

Surging MMA contenders Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida and “Reug Reug” Oumar Kane have been targeting a match with each other for quite some time, and at ONE Fight Night 13 on Prime Video, they’ll finally step into the Circle.

The two heavyweights were originally scheduled to face one another in 2021 and then in 2022, but injuries prevented the colossal showdown from happening.

But now, with both men healthy, the duo will finally throw down in one of the most anticipated heavyweight battles of the year, and the fight will broadcast live in U.S. primetime on Friday, August 4.

Widely regarded as the greatest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor of all time, Almeida has looked nothing short of dominant in his MMA career so far.

To date, “Buchecha” remains undefeated and has finished all four of his opponents in the first round.

The 33-year-old submission ace comes into the contest following the biggest win of his promotional run, forcing former ONE Interim Heavyweight World Title challenger Kirill Grishenko to tap out in just 64 seconds last August.

Kane, however, appears to be in top form and possesses a skill set that could give Almeida problems.

Standing six feet tall and made up of 260 pounds of muscle, “Reug Reug” is a Senegalese Wrestling Champion who is currently riding a two-fight winning streak. During that run, he displayed serious improvements in both his striking and endurance.

A win for either athlete would be massive, and it would immediately propel the victor into the ONE Heavyweight World Title conversation.

Buchecha: ‘This Fight Has Everything To Be A Great One’

Naturally, fans are pumped for this matchup between colossal heavyweights with world-class grappling repertoires, especially after waiting for so long.

According to Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida, his clash with “Reug Reug” Oumar Kane is happening at just the right time.

Now, both men are at the top of their respective games with fully developed skill sets, and the Brazilian thinks that’s a recipe for an unforgettable MMA classic at ONE Fight Night 13 on Prime Video.

“Buchecha” said:

“It’s a great fight. Everybody’s been expecting it for a long time. My debut was supposed to be with him and it got pushed over, so now, it’s a great chance.

“He got a couple more fights, he got a couple more victories. I got four victories, so we both got more experience. So, this fight has everything to be a great one.”
