Barely hours after he announced he'll no more don the India colours after the ongoing series against Australia, Saurav Ganguly was readying to dance the night away. In blue jeans and a tight red T-shirt, sparkle of gold on his wrist and cellphones in hand, Ganguly was ready to party. Rohit Mahajan spoke to Dada, who says he's now at peace with himself. Excerpts:
Was the announcement because you didn't want to end your career as someone who'd been dropped?
At the press conference, you seemed overcome by emotion.
There wasn't any real logic to dropping you from the India team?
People are still talking about a deal with the BCCI for an honourable exit.
It must have put a lot of pressure on the seniors?
Are you unhappy with the pressure you were put under, particularly as you had performed well after your comeback?
No bitterness at all?
But didn't you say before that you wanted to play for a couple of years more.
