Their missed opportunities and lack of accuracy proved costly as they were unable to find the back of the net.

UP's dominant 3-0 win over Soorma Hockey Club, their second consecutive victory, put them level with Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers at the top of the table with six points. Soorma, despite a shootout win earlier, remained on two points.

UP wasted no time, with Sudeep Chirmako scoring from a rebound in the second minute. Soorma responded with pressure and a couple of penalty corners, but even with Harmanpreet Singh, they couldn’t capitalize.

UP, led by Hardik Singh’s relentless midfield work, stuck to their game plan, creating constant threats and dominating possession.

Soormas earned 10 penalty corners, including four in quick succession and two in the final moments, but couldn’t break through goalkeeper James Mazarelo and first rusher Lars Balk. Singh, who took six of those PCs, was consistently denied any clear opportunity. Despite a late push, Soorma was thoroughly outplayed.

Brief Scores: UP Rudras 3 (Sudeep Chirmako 2’, Jobanpreet Singh 38’, Akashdeep Singh 58’) beat Soorma Hockey Club 0.
