Let's see if the hosts can equalise soon beacuse Inter dont't look too far from the second.
It’s been a gritty and hard-fought first half at the Stadio Olimpico, with Inter Milan edging the chances but Roma showing plenty of determination. Despite Roma leading possession with 55 percent, Inter’s pressing and defensive organisation have kept them in control of key moments. The 19 fouls committed in just 45 minutes underline the physical nature of this contest. Roma will look to find their rhythm and push for an equaliser in the second half.
The second half kicks off with Inter showing intent right away. Denzel Dumfries makes a strong run down the right and fires a low right-footed shot toward the bottom corner, but Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar is alert and gets down swiftly to make the save. Alessandro Bastoni provided the assist as Inter look to double their pressure early in this half.
With 20 minutes left on the clock, Roma continue to defend resolutely but are finding it difficult to carve out clear openings for an equaliser. The game remains scrappy, riddled with frequent fouls and interruptions that have disrupted the flow. Inter, meanwhile, are keeping up the pressure and pushing to double their lead, but most of the play has been confined to the midfield battles rather than goalmouth action.
We’re into the closing minutes here in Rome, and it looks like this one might just end without any late drama. Roma are pushing bodies forward, searching for that elusive equaliser, but Inter’s backline has stayed compact and disciplined. The game has lost some intensity, and unless there’s a twist right at the end, we may not see that outside goal both sides have been chasing.
It’s all over at the Stadio Olimpico! Inter Milan hold on to secure a narrow 1-0 win over Roma, thanks to Ange-Yoan Bonny’s goal in the 6th minute, the only strike of the game. Despite Roma enjoying more possession (57%) and mounting late pressure, they failed to find the equaliser. Inter were clinical when it mattered and managed the game well amid a flurry of fouls (29 by Roma, 18 by Inter). Inter finished with 15 total shots to Roma’s 12 and created four big chances, compared to Roma’s one. Mile Svilar made five saves to keep Roma in it, but the hosts lacked cutting edge in the final third. The visitors take all three points as Roma’s wait for a statement win continues.
