The match is underway and Mumbai City FC get a throw in immediately. They retain the possession and rotate the ball as Kerala Blasters try to press them. A long ball from MCFC is dangerously collected at the edge of the box by Arsh Shaikh.

A competitive first ten minutes with both sides creating chances. Víctor Bertomeu entered the Mumbai City half through the right half space and his shot was saved by Phurba Lachenpa. MCFC hit back immediately, as Lallianzuala Chhangte's right footed shot from a difficult angle on the left is saved in the centre of the goal by Arsh Shaikh. Assisted by Brandon Fernandes.

The second ten minutes have not been as engaging as the first ten. Scattered attacks on both sides with most of the play limited to midfield battle. Akash Mishra found a stray ball at the left side and was looking get in behind, but Sandeep Singh's sliding managed the situation.

Penalty saved by Arsh Shaikh. Jorge Pereyra Diaz will be disappointed. Danish Farooq's stamp inside the box, conceded a penalty for Mumbai City and Diaz came up for the spotkick. His weak effort on the goalkeeper's right was saved as Arsh guessed right. A huge roar from the crowd and KBFC keep their clean sheet in tact.

Both sides keep exchanging blows but none have been able to open the scoring. Joni Kauko has not come into the play yet. Vikram Partap Singh's shot from outside the box was blocked. Earlier, Víctor Bertomeu's shot was once again saved by Phurba Lachenpa.

Not much happened in the last five minutes as both teams remained confined to the battle of possession in the midfield. Nehal tried a shot while cut in but it was blocked. There was intensity in the first half, but creatively both teams lacked the finesse. They have all to achieve in the second half.

Lallianzuala Chhangte shows the instincts of a goal poacher and brings up the first goal for the Mumbai City FC just after restart. A long ranger from outside the box gets blocked by the KBFC defence and the deflected ball falls gently to Chhangte. He makes no mistake to find the back of the net. Finally MCFC goes ahead.

Mumbai City FC have slowed down the game and have not allowed Kerala Blasters to create any threatening chances. The midfield remote has been in the hands of MCFC but they have neither created more chances due to a resilient defence from Kerala Blasters. But they control proceedings while maintaining lead. Joni Kauko is seeing more of the ball.

Mumbai City FC have not allowed Kerala Blasters to get near the penalty area. Blasters keep finding their way but they have failed to make inroads. Mumbai City allows them to carry the ball to the midfield and then flocks them in numbers to take the ball back. Compact positioning and structure has made them difficult to break through. KBFC have a tough task in hand.

Mumbai City are carefully closing out the game here. Joni Kauko comes off as well which shows that they don't have plans to attack now. Vikram Partap Singh puts in a few solo effort to run the clock down.

Mumbai City FC get their second consecutive victory as they defeat Kerala Blasters 1-0 away from home. They were the tactically superior side and Kratky's side displayed it in the second half. Both teams attacked in the first half and exchanged blows. Jorge Pereyra Diaz's penalty got saved by young Arsh Shaikh and it looked like will cost Mumbai City. But in the second half, MCFC scored with Lallianzuala Chhangte scoring early after the break. From there they controlled the game with holding possession in the midfield and compact defensive setup. This is a second consecutive loss for Kerala Blasters and they will have to wary going forward.
