Richard Ngarava produced his first-ever five-wicket haul in Tests as Zimbabwe defeated Afghanistan by an innings and 73 runs on day three of the one-off Test, at the Harare Sports Club on Wednesday (October 22, 2025). This was Zimbabwe's biggest win (by run margin) in the format, and their first at home in 12 years.
Ngarava returned figures of 5-37 to help bowl Afghanistan out for 159 in the third innings. The hosts had earlier posted 359 runs on the board to take a 232-run first-innings lead.
On Day 2, Player of the Match Ben Curran (121) hit a hundred and was well-supported by Sikandar Raza (65) as the hosts put themselves in the driver's seat. For Afghanistan, Ziaur Rahman Sharifi was the pick of the bowlers as he registered the career-best figures of 7/97.
