The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 match between Sri Lanka and Oman will be live-streamed on the JioHotstar app and website in India. The television broadcast of the game will take place on the Star Sports 1 and 2 (SD & HD) channels. Regional commentary will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

Oman captain Jatinder Singh has won the toss and opted to bowl first today.

With the hands shaken and the national anthems sung, both sets of players take the pitch. Kamil Mishara and Pathum Nissanka open the innings for Sri Lanka, while Oman have given the new ball to Shah Fa/isal.

Jay Odedra gets the breakthrough for Oman!! Sri Lanka had actually made a very good start, with Mishara ending the first over with back-to-back boundaries before Nissanka getting one off Odedra. However, the Omani spinner gets the last laugh as his slower delivery breaks the stumps of Mishara, who made a really poor choice of shot. Kusal Mendis is the new batter, and he hits consecutive fours.

Oman take one of the worst reviews I have seen after Faisal hit Mendis on the pad. It looked to pitch way down the leg side in real time, and ball tracking confirms it. After a tight over, Nissanka gets three boundaries against Wassim to keep SL's blistering start on track.

What a review from Jatinder Singh!! After blowing a review early on, the captain risked it all by taking another review after Surfyan clipped the top of the pads of Nissanka. It looked a bit high, but the captain took the DRS. And ball tracking shows it hitting the of the stumps! Rathnayake is the new batter for SL, and he hits three boundaries.

Wasim is pulled back for back-to-back no balls – almost farcical at this point, really – and it's 17 runs from that over as we reach the half-way mark. Sri Lanka have kept up their superb start, and the match looks like it will run away from Oman unless they can get a couple of wickets.

Rathnayake completes is rapid half-century in 24 balls with a straight boundary over the head of Sufyan. This is the second-fastest fifty for Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup. However, it's one too many risky shots from the Lankan batter. He tries to scoop Ramanandi, exposing his leg stumps, which the ball clatters into. Mendis batting at 49 at the other end, and Shanaka is the new batter.

Kusal Mendis and skipper Dasun Shanaka have taken control of the Sri Lankan innings with their half-centuries as the co-hosts reach closer to the 200-run mark.

Sri Lanka have posted a massive 225/5 against Oman in Pallekele. After losing early wickets, Pavan Rathnayake (60) and Kusal Mendis (50) stabilized the innings.

Skipper Dasun Shanaka also provided a late explosion, smashing 50 off just 20 balls to leave Oman facing a daunting chase.

The 2nd innings is underway in Pallekele as Aami Kaleem and skipper Jatinder Singh take the crease. Dushmantha Chameera conceded 12 runs in the first over but also got the wicket of Jatinder for a score of 1 off 2.

Impressive start with bowl from the Lankans as they remove both the openers cheaply for a score of under 10. Aami Kaleem is the latest to depart for 6 off 5. All eyes now on Hammad Mirza and Mohammad Nadeem.

The wickets keep on tumbling for Oman as Chameera gets a big top edge off Mirza which carries to Mishara at midwicket. Wasim Ali comes on as the new batter, as Oman need 190 runs at the end of the powerplay.

A six off the first ball by Hemantha helps Oman cross the 50-run mark and improve their run rate a bit, with the required rate rising above 15-an-over. Neither Nadeem or Wasim have kicked on yet, and it looks like a question of how big the Sri Lankan win will be.

The Omani innings is absolutely crumbling under the pressure. Wasim Ali is the first one to go as he is caught behind after the faintest of edges by Theekshana. Vinanayak Shukla, the new batter, goes for one after being run out on his very first delivery – brilliant throw by Mishara.

Absolutely shambolic from Oman in the middle of the park. A clear call for a second by Nadeem, and then he sells his partner out. Sufyan, moored in the middle, is run out easily by the wicketkeeper. All but two of the Omani batters have returned to the pavilion, with 126 runs more needed.

43-year-old Mohammad Nadeem finally reaches his half-century. That's his third T20I fifty and Oman's first in the T20 World Cup, also becoming the oldest half-centurion in the T20 World Cup, overtaking the record of Sanath Jayasuriya. The chase, on the other hand, is not going so well, fair to say.

A very good final over from Pathirana, conceding just five runs, and Sri Lanka have restricted Oman to 120/9, sealing a massive 105-run victory. Brilliant performance from the co-hosts with both bat and ball. For Oman, this is a huge reality check ahead of even tougher tests ahead.
