South Africa Women completed a comprehensive 3-0 series whitewash against Ireland Women with a 6-wicket win in the third and series concluding ODI at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
A wonderful century from captain Laura Wolvaardt and a four-wicket haul by Nonkululeko Mlaba ensured the Proteas remained unbeaten throughout the Ireland's white-ball tour.
Winning the toss and choosing to bat, Ireland got off to a promising start.
Skipper Gaby Lewis led from the front with her 64 off 80 balls, stitching together a 99-run partnership for the 2nd wicket with Christina Coulter-Reilly (37).
At 120/1 in the 26th over, Ireland looked set for a competitive total.
However, the momentum shifted dramatically when spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba triggered a middle-order collapse. Mlaba dismantled the Irish lineup, claiming 4/33, including the crucial wicket of Lewis.
Despite a late cameo from Leah Paul (30), Ireland lost their final nine wickets for just 85 runs, eventually being bundled out for 205 in 45.2 overs.
In response, Laura Wolvaardt came out all guns blazing and smashed her 2nd consecutive century of the series, remaining not out till the end at 100.
Her knock was supported by the small contributions of Tazmin Brits (26 off 21), Karabo Meso (17 off 28), Sune Luus (25 off 23). Dan van Niekerk (10 off 6) and Faye Tunnicliffe (15 off 23) as South Africa won by 6 wickets.
