Pakistan Women were handed a 150-run thrashing by South Africa Women in a rain-curtailed match number 22 of the ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2025 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Tuesday, October 22. South Africa's innings was reduced to 40 overs and Pakistan could bat only 20 overs as the result was decided by DLS method.

South Africa batters were on fire against a hapless Pakistan bowling attack. Captain Laura Wolvaardt scored 90 while Sane Luus contributed with her 61. Marizanne Kapp also scored a quick-fire half-century and Nadine de Klerk continued her good form with a swash-buckling 19-ball 41 towards the end to propel South Africa to 312/9 in 40 overs.

Kapp then took three wickets with the new ball as Pakistan lost four wickets within first nine overs to go far behind in the chase. The match stopped due to rain soon and when it resumed, Pakistan were set an improbable target of 234 in 20 overs. They fell 150 runs short to lose the game.

South Africa are now the new table toppers with one more point than second-placed Australia who have a game in hand. Pakistan continue to languish at the bottom without a win.
