Shimron Hetmyer smashed a six off the last ball to take Seattle Orcas over the victory line in their Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 clash against MI New York on Friday night. Chasing 238, the Orcas needed six runs from the last ball of the final over which Kieron Pollard was bowling. Hetmyer crouched and launched the ball over the fine leg fielder for a six to help Orcas to their first win of the season.

MINY captain Nicholas Pooran scored a century and finished with 108 not out off 60 balls. However, it was Tajinder Dhillon who stole the show with an even better innings. Dhilllon smashed 95 off just 35 balls in a stunning blitz with eight fours and eight sixes. Kyle Mayers and Gerald Coetzee picked up two wickets each for the Orcas but MINY posted 237/4.
Seattle were off to a rapid start with 86 runs coming off the powerplay. They also lost three wickets in the first six overs but impactful cameos from Mayers and Raza got them off to a flying start. Klaasen too scored a quick 26 and after he got out Hetmeyer started his show.
The Caribbean left-hander smashed 97 off 40 and hit his ninth six of the innings to take his team over the line. 238 now becomes the highest successful chase in MLC.
The win is Seattle Orcas' first in six games while MINY are also left with just one win in six matches now.
