In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup East Asia Pacific Qualifier 2025 Super Six match held today at Al Amerat Cricket Ground, Qatar defeated Samoa convincingly by 8 wickets. Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Qatar limited Samoa to a total of 126 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs, setting up a manageable target for their chase. The match started at 7:00 PM local time with Qatar controlling key moments throughout the game.

Samoa struggled to build substantial partnerships as Qatar’s bowlers applied pressure, with Caleb Jasmat and Kurtis Hynam-Nyberg each taking one wicket. Despite losing early wickets, Samoa managed to post 126 but couldn’t accelerate in the latter part of the innings. Qatar’s bowlers kept the run rate in check, ensuring the total was within reach.

In the chase, Qatar’s batting was dominant, anchored by Zubair Ali who scored a fluent 55 not out off 46 balls, alongside an explosive 53 off just 30 balls by Muhammad Asim. Their unbroken partnership of 102 runs in 64 balls cruised Qatar to victory in just 15.1 overs. Qatar finished on 128 for 2, confidently securing their place with a strong all-round performance at the Ministry Turf 1 in Al Amerat .
