Melbourne Renegades Academy take on Nepal in Match 22 of the Top End T20 Series 2025 at the Cazalys Arena in Palmerston on Wednesday, 20 August, at 11:00 AM IST. The Renegades, fifth in the table with two wins in three games, will be slight favourites against an out-of-form Nepal team that have lost three of their four games so far.

Ahead of the clash, Nepal captain Rohit Paudel won the toss and opted to bat first.

After a flawless run of two wins in two games, the Melbourne Renegades Academy suffered a reality check in their last outing against the Pakistan Shaheens, suffering a massive 73-run defeat. Chasing a target of 179, following a stunning century by Abdul Samad, the Renegades’ innings capitulated at 105.

Other than opener Josh Brown (36 off 30), no other batter could score more than 15 runs, with Maaz Sadaqat taking three wickets in four overs.

Meanwhile, Nepal ended their rotten run of three successive defeats with a 66-run win over the Hobart Hurricanes Academy. The Nepalese side posted a good total of 180, aided by a 33-run knock from Aairf Sheikh and a late sprint from Lokesh Bam, adding 25 off 11.

A five-wicket spell from Nandan Yavad dismissed the Hurricanes for just 114, sealing the massive win for Rohit Paudel’s side.
