India Women completed a clinical 5-0 series whitewash over Sri Lanka with a hard-fought 15-run victory in the final T20I at Thiruvananthapuram.
After electing to bat first, India found themselves in early trouble at 77/5. However, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur rescued the innings with a brilliant 68 off 43 balls. Supported by a late cameo from Arundhati Reddy (27), India recovered to post a competitive 175/7.
In response, Sri Lanka produced their most spirited chase of the series. Hasini Perera (65) and Imesha Dulani (50) kept the visitors in the hunt with a powerful 79-run partnership, briefly putting the Indian bowlers on the back foot.
The game shifted decisively when Deepti Sharma made the breakthrough, dismissing Nilakshika Silva to become the highest wicket-taker in Women’s T20I history with 152 scalps.
Following Deepti’s record-breaking moment, India’s death bowling proved too precise for the Sri Lankan middle order, restricting them to 160/7.
Harmanpreet Kaur was named Player of the Match for her crucial half-century, while Shafali Verma took home Player of the Series honors. This dominant 5-0 sweep cements India’s status as the team to beat heading into the 2026 season.
