As expected, India are off to a brilliant start at the Bulawayo Athletic Club as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre have given the Blue Colts a very good start.

Ayush Mhatre might have been sent back to the dressing room but Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has smacked a 27-ball half-century, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes already.

The second wicket has fallen as well in the form of Aaron George, who departed for 24 and Vihaan Malhotra is the new man in. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, on the other hand, is just 4 runs away from hitting another century.

India U-19 refuse to lose momentum despite the big wicket of Suryavanshi, who departed after a blazing 96 off just 50 balls. Vihaan Malhotra and Aaron George keep the tempo high. At 175 for 2, India remain firmly in control, with George looking fluent on 39 off 39 and Malhotra settling in nicely.

Aaron George brings up a well-deserved half-century in style! He races to 52 off 48 balls, mixing composure with timely aggression as India U-19 cruise to 200 for 2. The over goes for 11 runs with two authoritative boundaries, keeping the scoreboard ticking briskly. Vihaan Malhotra plays the perfect supporting role on 22 from 27, allowing George to take charge.

A crucial breakthrough for the bowling side as Aaron George’s impressive knock comes to an end. George Cutler delivers a tidy over, conceding just two runs and striking with a big wicket. Aaron George, after a fluent 61 off 58, tries to force the pace but finds Ethan Ramsay in the deep, walking back after a well-played innings. India move to 220 for 3, but the momentum is checked slightly.

Vihaan Malhotra brings up a classy half-century with a crisp boundary, punching the ball through the covers to reach 51 off 63 balls. The over goes for eight runs, and India U-19 march to 270 for 3, firmly in command. Malhotra’s knock has been all about control and maturity, perfectly anchoring the innings while Abhigyan Kundu chips in with positive intent on 31.

A big moment in the innings as Vihaan Malhotra’s superb knock comes to an end. Ollie Jones gets the breakthrough, with Malhotra mistiming one and finding Max Chaplin in the deep after a classy 77 off 81 balls. It’s just three runs from the over, but the wicket is priceless for the bowling side. India U-19 move to 315 for 4, still in a commanding position, but they lose the anchor who had guided the innings beautifully.

Ollie Jones is right on top of his game here, delivering another telling blow in a superb spell. He picks up his third wicket in as many overs, tightening his grip on the innings as India U-19 move to 348 for 7. Despite the wicket, the over goes for only four runs, keeping things under control late in the innings.

What a finish from India U-19! The final over explodes for 18 runs, with RS Ambrish launching two massive sixes to power the total up to 374 for 8. The batters show no fear, turning the death overs into a boundary fest as Deepesh Devendran chips in with quick runs as well. Ambrish’s late surge, now 28 off 24, adds crucial muscle to the innings and ensures India post a towering score.

Theo Robinson and Olly Pillinger walk out to begin the chase, with Robinson taking strike for the first delivery. Kishan Kumar Singh has the new ball in hand and starts his run-up from the pavilion end, ready to test the batters early.
