England reached 175/6 in 52 overs when the second session ended as India controlled proceedings on the penultimate day of the third Test between the two sides at Lord's in London. While Indian bowlers got six wickets in two sessions and were largely on point, there were some odd deliveries which led to a lot of extras being scored. In fact, till Tea, India had conceded 31 runs in extras. Only Joe Root (40) had scored more for England than India gave away for free.

India kept on taking wickets which pushed them ahead in the game but the amount of runs leaked through extras would not make Shubman Gill, the India captain, happy. The biggest problem for India among these unearned runs was the amount of runs that went past the wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel, a substitute for Rishabh Pant who injured his finger while keeping early in the Test match.

When Ben Stokes scored his 25th run of the second innings in the 49th over, he matched the number of runs conceded by Jurel behind the stumps. India conceded 25 runs off byes in the second innings till tea. However, pinning the runs under Jurel's belt would be a bit of an injustice to what he has done so far with gloves.

Some deliveries just kept swinging beyond Jurel's reach and even his dive could not stop them. There was not any out-and-out blunder from Jurel's side that got England easy runs. It was just a combination of bowlers missing their lines and the unevenness of the pitch.
