Bangladesh U19 have won the toss and opted to bowl first in today's match.
Bangladesh, choosing to bowl first, have failed to get any early scalps and have allowed the Nepalese openers to settle in. The Bangladeshi bowlers have been awry with their line and length, and the current run rate is at run-a-ball.
The partnership is broken!! Sahil managed to surive for so long, but he gets a thick outside edge that is taken quite brilliantly at slip by Beg. Razin enjoyed that!
A brilliant over from Al-Amin. After having a huge LBW shout waves away, the pacer roars back with terrific line and length, knocking out the off-stump of Vansh Chhetri, who departs for just four runs. Nepal U19 lose their second wicket.
Fuller length from Sobuj, and there's miminal footwork from Niraj Kumar Yadav. There's an outside edge, and it's catching practice for the wicketkeeper. The pacer continues with his terrific length, this time coming in with the ball and knocking out the stumps of Khestri, who departs for a duck.
No hat-trick for Sobuj, but the pacer gets three wickets in two overs. Shreshta's luck finally runs out as he tries a swipe it but gets a thick outside edge. It flies up and makes for an easy return catch for the bowler. Just one run for the over as well.
Saad's aggressive bowling continues to bring results. A searing bouncer from the pacer, and there wasn't enough time for Dhami to get out of the way. A big outside edge is taken easily by the wicketkeeper.
We are half-way through the Nepal innings. It has been a pretty solid partnership between Luhar and Tiwari, which is the second-most since their opening pair. Tiwari, especially, has been pretty aggressive so far, adding valuable runs for the Himalayan side.
Hakim, who was struggling in his first over, comes in and immediately breaks the partnership. Hakim tempted Luhar, getting an inside edge that is taken brilliantly at the slip by Abrar.
The collapse is complete. The last three wickets fall in the space of 12 balls as Nepal are bundled out for just 130 runs in 31.1 overs. Md Sobuj claims 3/27 while Shahriar Ahmed (2/10) mops up the tail to leave Bangladesh an easy target.
Bangladesh are off to a swift start in pursuit of a modest 131-run target. Openers Zawad Abrar and Rifat Beg have not been too aggressive, but six extras already in the first two overs mean Nepal are firmly on the backfoot.
BAN: 27/0 (3)
Bangladesh lose Rifat Beg (5) and captain Azizul Hakim (1) off successive deliveries in the fourth over, but opener Zawad Abrar (44 not out) is going strong, given company by Kalam Siddiki (18 not out). As is the case usually with such small totals, one decent partnership is all it takes to regain ascendance and the Young Tigers are in prime position for victory.
Zawab Abrar (63*) and Kalam Sidikki (23*) have stitched 73-run stand for the 3rd wicket and brought Bangladesh on the verge of victory against Nepal
Rizad Hossan (12*) finishes off in style with a six and with it the young Bengal Tigers register an emphatic 7-wicket win over Nepal. Zawad Abrar remained not out on 70 to seal an easy chase for Bangladesh.
That's a wrap from our end. We'll come back soon with another blog, until then, bye bye.
