Zawad Abrar lit it up first, Wahidullah Zadran missed his length and Abrar launched him clean over the ropes for a towering six. The next ball was kept simpler, nudged away for a single to rotate the strike. Rifat Beg then got involved, a bit of chaos as it brushed the pads and ran away for a leg bye, just enough for another run and momentum ticking along.

Heartbreak just four short of a hundred. Roohullah Arab finally found the breakthrough as Zawad Abrar went after him, only to pick out Khatir Stanikzai. The catch was taken clean, the crowd groaned, and Abrar walked back on 96, a composed, punishing knock that deserved three figures but ends two shy of glory.

Azizul Hakim Tamim didn’t bother with subtlety, Salam Khan Ahmadzai dropped it in his arc and Tamim launched him straight back over the boundary for a towering six.

Disaster in the middle. Khatir Stanikzai pushed it into the gap and Md Abdullah set off without hesitation, but Wahidullah Zadran was sharp, swooping in and firing a direct hit. No chance of getting back, Abdullah was run out for 2, momentum abruptly halted.

Bangladesh Under-19 opened their ACC Men's Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 campaign with a three-wicket win over Afghanistan Under-19, chasing 284 after Zawad Abrar’s classy 96 and Rifat Beg’s 62 set the platform, while Faisal Shinozada’s 103 powered Afghanistan to 283 for 7.
