WBBL 2025: Controversial Call-Off Denies Sydney Thunder Victory Over Adelaide Strikers In Rain-Curtailed Match

The 28th match of the WBBL 2025 between Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Thunder took an unexpected turn when the umpires called-off the game just when the Thunder at the cusp of victory needing 3 off just 13 balls in a 5-over match. The players and the commentators where in shock by the umpires decision but the eventually was called-off leaving people wondering if the Thunders were robbed of a certain victory.

After waiting for the entire day due to rain, we were finally blessed to have a 5-over game at our hands. The Strikers gave the Thunders a target of 46 runs. Just when the latter were at the cusp of winning the game, needing just 3 off 13 balls, the umpire decided to call for covers as they felt that it was about to pour heavily, even when it was clear that the showers were not heavy enough to call off the game.
