And we are underway in Bangkok! Schulz earns a couple of early points after a few misjudged shots by PV Sindhu, but the Indian claws back with a nicely-placed effort that falls just inside the line.
After a fairly error-laden start from both sides, Sindhu seems to have found her footing in the contest, smashing a couple of powerful shots. Schulz, though, is not giving up, but she concedes three points on the trot. Sindhu ahead by five at the interval.
Sindhu shows her class after the interval, barely giving Schulz any chance of making her way back into the fight. Despite the Dane winning a couple of points towards the end, the Indian shuttler clinches the first game with ease.
A similarly tight start to the second game, with Schulz leading briefly, but Sindhu fights back in style with some powerful forehands. The Indian star is ahead at the interval, with one foot in the quarter-finals.
PV Sindhu goes past her Danish challenger and makes her way into the Thailand Open quarter-finals! It was a good performance from the former Olympic medalist, but Schulz pushed her hard till the end.
