Kjaersfeldt is beginning to take charge in the decider here. The Dane has opened up a 13-7 lead in Game 3 with relentless pressure from the baseline and much quicker interceptions at the net.

Ashmita Chaliha is still battling through the rallies, but she is being forced into defensive lifts far too often now, allowing Kjaersfeldt to control the attack with those steep downward smashes. The Indian needs a momentum swing quickly before this gap gets out of reach.

It is all over in Kuala Lumpur, and Line Kjaersfeldt fights back to knock out Ashmita Chaliha in a hard-fought three-game quarter-final. After dropping a tense opening game 21-23, the Danish eighth seed gradually took control of the pace and rhythm of the match, winning 21-18, 21-11 in the next two games to book her semi-final spot.

Ashmita showed tremendous composure early on, mixing tight net play with sharp placement to edge the opener, but Kjaersfeldt’s experience began to show as the match wore on.
