The Solution

Give up? All right, then, read it all here

1. The security guard. He was Rajanna's first suspect because he was the man who always brought in the water, so he was the one most likely to be able to get Ballal's fingerprint. Rajanna hacked his phone while he was outside Ballal's office, and found calls to Govindaraj of Technova on it. Remember you know Rajanna is a hacker?

2. As Rajanna had hacked the guard's phone, he could show Ballal the messages and calls between the guard and Govindraj. (Rajanna hacked the phone from his own phone during the time he said he was SMSing a report on the theft to his associate.) We gave you a clue to this when we told you that Rajanna had managed to text Govindaraj from the guard's number, asking him to meet Jyoti immediately.

3. Ballal's security man used a special camera that can photograph keys at a distance of up to 60 metres. The camera was integrated into his baton. The inspiration for this part of the story is a gadget called Sneakey, being developed by computer scientists at the University of California.

4. The inspiration for Ballal's cabin lock is MATA BioTech's M28 fingerprint recognition lock. Ballal's security guard got Ballal's fingerprint on a clear surface, like a drinking water glass used by Ballal. Govindaraj dusted the glass with fine powder, lifted it on to ascotch tape and then had it copied. He used that replication of Balla's fingerprint to open the lock.

5. Jyoti wore a corset fitted with a GPS tracking system. The inspiration for this part of the story is a special set of lingerie with a GPS device hidden next to the waist, designed by lingerie maker Lucia Lorio of Brazil.

The inspiration for Jyoti's stungun lipstick is a powerful rechargeable lipstick stun gun made by defensedevices.com, available in the US.
