To many Indians, science is magical. For them, there is passion and excitement in its pursuit—sometimes for the way it can transform lives of ordinary people, but mostly just for the way it fires their innate curiosities. Here, we present 10 young Indian scientists—women and men working at the frontlines of diverse disciplines of modern science. Through their work—in medicine, biotechnology, earthquake science, laser science, computational neurobiology, cosmology or archaeology—these people are pushing the envelope, maybe even bringing the world closer to answering some of the most puzzling questions of science.
