Generally speaking, the immune system is what it is described as being. Comprising of organs, cells, and proteins, the immune system is twofold. The innate immune system, which is something we all have by default, is the first part. The body develops the second immune system, known as the adaptive immune system, as a result of exposure to chemicals or microbes. Therefore, it only makes sense that when we think of the immune system, we picture an army ready to fight off any threat.
