Most newspapers have a section dedicated entirely to sports and electronic media also covers it substantially, newsmagazines for some reason don’t give it that much attention. The same holds for Outlook. I cannot claim to be a regular reader, but whatever do I see and note, it doesn’t seem to dedicate much space to sports. Even if cricket finds some mention, football is largely ignored. Why is that? Why this lack of interest? While sports and specifically football is my first love, it is only when I had joined politics on a Trinamool Congress ticket during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections that most newsmagazines sought interviews and comments. While politics does give you the chance to serve people in many ways, sports is also important. The youth are able to relate to sports and so they look at us as role models, so it is important for us to set a good example. Newsmagazines like Outlook devote so many pages to politics, even entertainment. Don’t your readers want to know what is happening in the world of football?
