A thick layer of ice covers the Dal Lake in Kashmir after a sudden plunge in the minimum temperature. Kashmir Valley reeled under severe cold with Srinagar city recording its lowest minimum temperature, minus 7.8 degrees Celsus, in eight years, on Wednesday.
