More than 20 schools across the national capital received bomb threats on Thursday, triggering panic among students, parents, and staff. The Delhi Police and fire services responded swiftly, evacuating premises and initiating thorough security checks, though no explosive devices were found as of Friday morning.

The first bomb threat was reported by Richmondd Global School in Paschim Vihar. Shortly after, Abhinav Public School in Rohini Sector 3 also received a similar threat. Authorities confirmed that multiple schools received near-simultaneous threats via email, prompting a citywide security alert.

Investigation Underway

The Delhi Police said a coordinated investigation is underway to determine the source and authenticity of the threats. Preliminary reports suggest that the messages may have originated from a single source or group, but officials have not ruled out the possibility of a hoax or cyber sabotage.

The Delhi Fire Service confirmed its teams were dispatched to several affected schools to assist in the emergency response and evacuation protocols. All students and staff were safely evacuated.

Not the First Incident

Thursday’s threats mark the latest in a string of similar incidents that have plagued Delhi schools in recent months. In last few months, over 100 schools received bomb threats via email, all of which were ultimately found to be false alarms.

Those threats led to heightened security protocols and triggered investigations involving cybercrime units and intelligence agencies
